Starting October 1, 2019 New Zealand has made some changes to immigration requirements for visitors to New Zealand and those transiting to other countries. Some visitors and tourists must have an NZeTA (New Zealand Electronic Travel Authority) before they leave for New Zealand.
Here are the basic details we have taken from the Government of New Zealand’s Immigration Department. Connect with one of our South Pacific Specialists to learn about the full Visa process.
We have a range of visas that allow you to come to New Zealand for a holiday or to visit friends and family. We also have some special visas that allow other activities like short term study or some business activities.
The Application Process
1 – Gather documents
Preparing an application varies in complexity. For most visas you’ll need to get all the evidence together before you submit your application.
2 – Submit Application
Many visas can be applied for online. Others need to be sent to us with the application forms, your passport and other supporting documents.
3 – Wait for visa decision
We’ll assess your application as soon as we can. We may ask you for more information if needed and will let you know about your visa as soon as it’s decided. The time it takes to process your application depends on the visa you apply for, your circumstances and the information you supply with your application. If your application is not complete you may have to wait longer for a decision about your visa.
4 – Arrive in New Zealand
If you’re not already in New Zealand you can now come to visit, invest, work, study or live permanently.
Electronic Visa Fees
Visa Fees vary based on the type of Visa you require.
