As the heart of the South Pacific, Tahiti is the largest of the islands that make up French Polynesia. It can be a bit confusing but Tahiti could be referring to the main island or the entire destination – which is a collection of 118 islands and atolls. Divided into two part, the larger portion is known as Tahiti Nui, and the smaller southeastern area is know as Tahiti Iti.
Papeete, the capital city is a multicultural city boasting busy boulevards and a bustling harbour with a waterfront promenade where you can enjoy the hopping night life.
The island of Tahiti strikes an interesting contrast to some of the more quiet, secluded islands in the region; and with a selection of wonderful and convenient Tahiti resorts available, you will never regret staying.
